Eliminating sugary drinks from one’s diet is associated with a lower risk of diabetes complications. This research project followed over 3,000 individuals with type 2 diabetes and discovered that those who replaced sugary beverages with water, unsweetened coffee, or tea had a significantly reduced likelihood of developing cardiovascular problems, kidney disease, and premature death. The study underscores the importance of avoiding sugary drinks for individuals with diabetes and highlights the potential benefits of making healthier beverage choices.
